The Federal structure is a tool against the schism and disintegration of the country, said the leader of the public movement of the Ukrainian choice – the Right people.
The regions of Ukraine should get right in matters of faith, history, language. This opinion was expressed by the leader of the public movement Ukrainian choice – the Right of the people Viktor Medvedchuk in interview Novaya Gazeta.
"And this policy must be adhered to in all respects: to look for what unites us rather than divides us. Here's federalization. It is necessary to "stitch" the country. Federalization is the Foundation for that," he said.
Medvedchuk recalled that since the early 90-ies actively promoted this idea while between Ukraine and Russia had good relations, and because the idea of federalization was not relevant. "But today's problems are alien to the nature of the two neighboring, brotherly peoples. And this situation could not exist, because it is artificially created and artificially pumped", he added.
According to Medvedchuk, the federalization will help in solving this problem, as the Federal structure "will allow us to be unified, but at the same time will not impose a single template". "In Lviv the same values, and in Donetsk – other. In Lviv want monuments to Bandera to put? Please put at least at each corner and flowers to wear it. It is your right... And it is normal practice. In Ivano-Frankivsk, for example, don't want to speak Russian? Well, that's their right," – said the leader of the public movement.
At the same time, he noted that to impose such a position Odessa and especially Luhansk, which along with the Crimea region, where the vast majority is Russian-speaking population is politically illiterate and extremely dangerous. "I'll tell you more, it is the attempt of Parliament to abolish the "language law" in February 2014 led to the tragic for Ukraine, events in Crimea and then Donbas. So when you ask why you need a Federal system, I will answer very simply: it is a remedy against schism and disintegration of the country", – said Medvedchuk.
Previously Medvedchuk said that Ukraine can not exist as a unitary state.
