Russia has disrupted the passage of the resolution on a truce in Syria

Russia's permanent representative in the UN security Council voted against the draft resolution on the ceasefire in Syria, so the vote was postponed.

The UN Security Council failed to adopt a resolution of 30-day truce in Syria. Because of the position of Russia voting on the relevant draft Thursday, February 22, did not take place.

Ambassador to Moscow in the security Council Vassily Nebenzia made it clear they will not vote for this draft introduced by Sweden and Kuwait, and invited to make a number of changes.

Since Russia has veto power and can block any UN security Council resolution, the President, the representative of Kuwait Mansour al-Otaibi postponed the hearing on this issue.
